Every woman needs a classic "little black dress."

This young model was a joy to work with.  A dancer, quiet and sweet, with a beautiful smile.  The full package.  We had a great time with her session!

On My Parents' Wedding Anniversary

For nearly thirty years, sitting on the shelf in our living room was a small white book.  Inside were dozens of 5X7 photos from my parents' wedding day.

I cannot begin to count the number of times I looked through that album!  It was one of my favorite books.  I loved everything: the dress, the flowers, the cake...and especially the joyously smiling faces of both Bride and Groom.

Those memories are precious.  I wasn't there, it wasn't my own memory.  But I almost felt like I was at times -- those images captured so many aspects of that happy, happy day.  For that is what photographs are meant to do.  They are tangible memories.  Past moments brought back to the present.  Each photo has its own story attached.

Now I am the wedding photographer, capturing other brides' stories.  And somehow, every time I photograph a new wedding celebration, I still think of that little white book that I pulled from the shelf day after day.

Engagements in San Francisco

One of the most beautiful places in San Francisco is the elegant Palace of Fine Arts.  When this lovely couple decided to go into the city to take some photographs, we jumped at the chance to make use of the Palace, which was festooned with spring blossoms.

Magical Reception

Just a few final shots from the reception of the Disney wedding I did last month.  Their dance was especially sweet!  Neither one could keep from grinning ear-to-ear.

Engagements at the LACMA

Part of the whole process of photographing a wedding includes couples/engagement shots.  This couple had already sent out announcements, so their couples shoot was the day before their destination wedding at Disneyland.  These were taken at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

This couple had such a unique and individual style, and they were honestly so awesome to work with.  Totally easy-going and laid-back, willing to do just about anything to get the shot...and just fun to be around.

Adventures in the Cinderella Carriage

Last weekend, I had the marvelous opportunity of photographing a wedding at Disneyland.  This has been a dream of mine since I first became a photographer.

I was able to work with renowned photographer Jason Lanier, and it was such a great experience!  Jason is a great guy, fun to work with, and expects professionals to BE professional.

Obviously, a key moment here was the bride and groom in the fabulous Cinderella Coach.  As a Disney nut, I was doing the whole geek-out thing -- private and inwardly, of course, so as not to lose my professional cool.  :-)
